Finding the best Fish Finder can sometimes be quite a task; this is probably the reason you found yourself here. As a fisherman or a fisherwoman, you have probably bought various types of fish finders in the past, but they never performed to your satisfaction. This is the right place for you; the article offers well-researched fishfinder reviews that may just end your pursuit for the best one.
What to Consider When Choosing a Fish Finder?
You have probably found yourself in a difficult situation when trying to choose a fish finder that best suits your needs. Here are some of the factors that you can consider when selecting a Fish Finder that suits your needs.
The transducer is the primary component of the fish locator, and it works by sending sound waves into the water and acquiring the details of objects located in the water. The most important feature when choosing a transducer is the cone angle.
The bigger the degree on the cone the more the coverage of the underwater. However, wider beams lose strength quickly and therefore cannot go as deep as the narrow cone. Fortunately, both capabilities can be found in the dual beam or multiple beam type of transducers.
Display size, resolution, and color
Displays with more pixels are clearer and more expensive. A bigger screen size will similarly provide a better and more unobstructed view that will enable you to differentiate the data. Additionally, colored displays provide more details, easier viewing of underwater and enhanced usability in bright light but black and white screens are cheaper.
The power of the Fish Finder is also an important feature to consider when choosing one. A fish finder with more watts is more efficient, exhibit better speed when displaying readings and is suited for deep waters.
The amount of detail displayed on the screen is usually determined by the frequency of the transducer. Therefore a higher rate will provide you more information than a lower frequency.
Depending on your needs, you may go for a self-contained portable fish finder or a fixed one that needs to be attached to the boat.
Inclusivity of the Package
Some Fish Finders have an inbuilt GPS while others don’t have. You should, therefore, check whether the Fish Finder you want to buy has an inbuilt GPS or not. A GPS is vital in calculating your exact position and an important feature of fishing as well. Therefore it is more convenient, economical and space saving to have it in one unit.

Ever wondered how you would cast and catch a multitude of the big bass? If that is your concern, then you are definitely in the right place, and we are in play. Let's face it, ask any fisherman what the most effective lure of all time is. He is going to tell you about some bait he once used to catch his previous big bass.
In fact of all the lures the tournament veterans have within their reach the swim baits come first. Well, if you have not yet embraced the swimbaits for bass fishing then this is your last time for that. It is hard to put swimbaits in categories, but here you can find classification of swim baits by type
The Rods, lines and reelsEvery time you get into a new game you got to stick to the rules of that game. Here, we are changing how we initially used to lure the fish with a motive of catching it. You want to catch the big bass, don’t you? Then this method will require casting fairly larger baits than your previous ones.
Get the Right type of Rod
For this reason, you will need to get the right type of rod to drag, lift and hoist the big bass from the water. So the game changer here is the size of the bait which consequently calls for a different size of the rod used. Personally, I use a 9-foot, 8-power made to fish a 9-inch soft and plastic swimbait.
However, not all rods are equal in strength. So what should I do? Are you asking that? Right, my advice would be to find a dealer who will give you the allowance to demonstrate their effectiveness. This is important because the wrong choice of the rod will definitely pull you down.
Besides rods, reels and lines are also crucial, but they are more flexible. You might want to try and throw that newly acquired swimbait on a line rather than a rod. This will make you aware of the kind of them that is most suitable for you. But before you rush to the store to get the line check out some of the pros and cons of Mono, Fluorocarbon, and Braided Lines or lines in particular.
Be sure to know the structural strength of the line you are purchasing. Choose one with a bigger gear ratio. I use a line of 5:2 gear ratio because it has a greater power and good stretching. If you are not sure about their power then I got you still.
Calm approachIt is time for the action now. So brace up and follow my lead. When setting off for the actual fishing, draw close to their (the fish) habitat from the downwind side of it so that the nose of the boat is facing directly into the breeze.
Stay as far as you can from the point but maintain a safe perimeter in a such a way that you can cast your swimbait over the point. Remember not to the point but over! Throwing the swimbait directly on the territory will only spread them away and no you are unlikely to catch any fish that day. What a bad day in the lake! Of course, reduce the disturbance and noise. Like kill the engine and turn on the electric motor. Whatever happens, do not stalk these babies!!
Is the attempt Still following my lead? Well, at this point I usually (and that is what you should do actually) throw a 9-inch swimbait at a perimeter of about 40 feet all across the ridge. I suppose you are doing it along with me. So after casting it let it sink all the way to the bottom and start reeling it slowly and in a persistent manner so that it can look as if it is actually swimming.
Ideally, you pretty much want this baby to swim slowly and lazily into that territory. This is a crucial attempt, and you don’t want to waste it. Keep the swimbait in the middle of the water. Suspend it if it is a heavy one. Pulling it from the right side, you are probably going to see some big bass hanging at the end of the swimbait. You will have nailed it.
The second and subsequent cast will follow the same method, but try narrowing the diameter of cast every time you throw the swimbait again. Try 6-7 attempts while maintaining the same position of the boat before rowing to the next point. This method really works for me I am certain that you will get the big bass you are after if you are keen enough (which I know you are).
Time for different bait
Sometimes a changeover can be good. That is what I do most of the time when the big bass doesn't want to eat my swimmer. You shouldn’t get tired changing the swimmer – you just have to assume a comfortable position and change the application. Keep rotating the swimbaits while aiming for the bigger fish.
Move to the next location when you hit the 6th or 7th throw on that point. The number of points fished depends on how deep into fishing you are – your motivation. I recommend you hit at least 15 points before calling it a day. By mixing the bait sizes, you are in a way trying to diversify the fish sizes that you will catch. This method can well work for two or three people although it is effective when employed by one individual.
The old methods of catching fish have all been after many fish without considering their size. However, with the introduction of the swimbaits, fishing has taken a turn in that now fishing enthusiast is motivated by the size of the fish and not necessarily their numbers. Moreover, it is a good method for catching fish from clear water without having to disturb it.
When it comes to fishing, nothing beats the revolutionary use of swimbait to catch fish. The big bass can no longer hide. And I am pretty sure you have learned the how, when and where to cast, haven’t you?
